Catherine Butler

Core Investigator; K-23 Awardee; Assistant Professor, University of Washington School of Medicine

Dr. Butler is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Nephrology at the University of Washington and an HSR research fellow working under the primary mentorship of Dr. Ann O’Hare. Her research interests include healthcare intensity at the end-of-life for older adults with advanced kidney disease, opportunities to support person-centeredness and equity in the kidney transplant evaluation, and healthcare resource allocation during the COVID-19 pandemic. She received her BA from Tufts University, her MD from Washington University in St. Louis School of Medicine, and completed her internal medicine residency, research nephrology fellowship, and Masters’ degree in bioethics at the University of Washington. She is a recipient of the University of Washington Chair of Medicine Scholars Award.
